Turns out it was pretty fun. I choose to see see what mythological creature I am. Well just read below and you should get a kick out of the picture that came with the results....

You scored as Angel. Angel: Angels are the guardians of all things, from the smallest ant to the tallest tree. They give inspiration, love, hope, and positive emotion. They live among humans without being seen. They are the good in all things, and if you feel alone, don't fear. They are always watching. Often times they merely stand by, whispering into the ears of those who feel lost. They would love nothing more then to reveal themselves, but in today's society, this would bring havoc and many unneeded questions. Give thanks to all things beautiful, for you are an Angel.

Dragon

75%

Angel

75%

Faerie

42%

Demon

34%

Mermaid

34%

WereWolf

17%

What Mythological Creature are you? We have two new additions last year -twin boy's (my cousins). I had the best year of my life last year (with the exception of losing my Grandmother -that sucked a lot). I love my new job, it's a blast. The commute is great (its 10 min). My boss is cool, and I have learned SOOOOOOO much from him (its totally awesome!) The folks I work with a wonderful too -very professional people. I have made some wonderful friends here. You will see them is some of the pics I send you (mostly you will see their children attacking me). I got a cat that’s lazier than Garfield, but cuter than ...well she's cute and she knows it.

In the mean time I have discovered the joy of free time (did I mention my 10 min commute?). I am currently working on Robomouse, he's going to be an old wheel mouse that runs around and chases lights -I hope.

Most importantly in all this is Savannah. She's wonderful! She's younger than me but you wouldn't know it from talking with her. She's very intelligent (even if she's dating me). She's a chemistry major at Piedmont (not one of those silly Computer Science majors from NGCSU, you can't trust them). We have been dating for six months as of last Sunday, and I've had the time of my life.

I could go on and on but I think I should get to work now.

-Jeremy

P.S. Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that I'm thinking about building a house, well a cabin. It will be on top of a hill where I can see at least 5 counties. Mom and Dad own the land, and I got the building permit at the end of last year. The only thing is that I have a neighbor up there now RIGHT ON THE FREAKING LINE. I don't know about that.

Good Morning World!

This was the view from my front yard when I left for work today.

Where did all the common sense go?

I was watching good Morning <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />America this morning before work. I only watched two ‘news stories’ before I had had enough, and came to work early. The first bit of ‘news’ was about The Mexican government distributing pamphlets explaining the best route to take to cross the border into America. The second bit of ‘news’ (and I use the term very loosely here) was about how mean the judges on American Idol are.

As for the Mexican government’s pamphlets I can see why the government of that poor county would want to help its people across the border. Those illegal immigrants send money back to their families which helps the Mexican economy. To the Mexican government those people are a valuable export. Oh sure, they will claim its about human rights and rattle off statistics about how many people died last year because they didn’t cross the border in the right place (over 400 they claimed). I wonder what the figure is for the number of people last year who died because the emergency room was full of illegal immigrants who cannot legally be turned away. I wonder how many people died last year because they couldn’t get a job that was already being done by illegal immigrants who don’t pay taxes. I think that figure jumps way up if you thing of pregnant mothers who lose their babies because of a lack of proper nourishment.

My point is not that people form Mexico (or any country) should be turned away from this county. After all, we all (even the Native Americans) descend from immigrants to this wonderful land of milk and honey. My point is that Americans should be outraged that a foreign country is exploiting our Nation! There is a system in place to allow immigrants into America in a controlled and safe way (safe for our county, its citizens, and the immigrants).

Now to jump subjects, to American Idol. I can’t say that I have ever watched it, but I do know what goes on during the show. People who really have no business being seen in public (much less national T.V.) go on stage and ‘sing’. Those people know before hand that the judges on the show will make fun of them if they perform badly. That is what they have done for the last three seasons. It’s not like they just started the show last week. Anyway there are now groups of people including G.L.A.D. (Gay and Lesbian Advocate and Defense) who are saying the show’s judges are too mean.

Stop there! What does gay and lesbian defense have to do with ANYTHING?

American Idol makes money through commercials that air during the breaks in the show. The people advertising with those commercials will pay more money if more people watch. Hmmmm, How to make more people watch something….. I know! Make fun of people and have a lot of drama. That’s the formula for the show. That is what people are watching. Not the occasional good singer (if people wanted good music they would listen to their favorite CD).

Again; what does gay and lesbian defense have to do with ANYTHING?

That is easy. These people need their time in the spotlight. They’re feeling left out, so they going to cry about it. Well tough! Nobody cares! We just want to see Simon bash someone else, so G.L.A.D. you might as well get over it! For once political correctness WILL NOT win. Because as P.C. as our county is now, we still like our Dramatic Reality T.V. better.

Isn’t the world silly. The greatest most powerful county EVER is being exploited by a third world county and all we care about is who’s on American Idol and weather the Judges are being to mean to the Gays and lesbians.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen. -Reinhold Niebuhr

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil
is that good men do nothing."
-Edmund Burke

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state,is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one.
-Thomas Paine

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
-Benjamin Franklin

In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved.
-Franklin D. Actually he's already bought it, but the plat has to be approved by the government.

Yesterday Dad dropped off the plat in the local planning office (actually that was closed so he left it with the Building Inspection Department who later handed it to the planning office). Dad asked me later to go by and see if it had been approved yet. So, being the good son that I am, I called the planning office. No one was there all day. Today I called again and spoke with the nice lady at working in there who told me she had no idea what would need to be done because she had not had time to review it yet.

HUH????? 'What would need to be done..'

I thought that to myself, "Ok there's just a miscommunication here." I politely explained to the nice lady that we weren't planning on doing anything with the property, there won't be any clearing, cutting, grading, or building. My Dad just wanted the property because it joins his own. The nice lady told me she 'Understood' that but there I would still have to have the health department approve it, before she can stamp the plat.

HUH???? "The health Department approve it"?

The same Health Department that I get my shots from? Why oh why do they care that my dad is buying a small plot of land next to his home. Is it sick? Does it have a cold? Well, Apparently he Health Department has to check the condition of the soil. The nice lady in the Planning office ave me my Dad's, as yet unapproved, plat back. There was a sticky note on the plat about Protected Mountain Area.

AHA!!!! "Protected Mountain Area"

Let me stop right here to review. My Dad has purchased a small piece of property next to his house. He is ready to have the plat recorded in the County Clerk's but the Building Inspections Department had to give Dad's plat to the Planning Office so they can tell me to come take it back so the Health Department can decide if its ok for the Planning Office to say its alright for Dad to have it Recorded in the Clerk's Office. Thats six times Dad and I get to be honored by visiting a government office.

I do so love a good cup of wasted time with my bureaucratic crackers.

The adventure isn't over yet. The Health Department closes at 3:00p.m. so I have to wait until next Monday to get them to look at Dad's Plat. In the mean time I need to ponder the wonders Mountain Protection... But I have plenty of time for that whilst I happily await my government's pleasure.

Simplicity a philosophy

Every aspect of life is simple. It is society and the nature of human beings that attempts to complicate. Every issue can, at its core, be seen as black or white. The grey only appears to exist because neither the black nor white are desirable to all people at all times.

Simplicity does not mean absoluteness or totality. The only rule that there are no exceptions to is; "There is an exception to every rule." Just because a thing is correct in one situation does not mean it will be correct in the next. Likewise, just because a thing is correct for one person or group does not mean it will be correct for all.

Simplicity ignores social desire. Even though a thing is popular or desirable it may not be correct. Simplicity focuses on that which is necessary and nothing more. Simplicity is about choice. It can be applied to any question. It does not mean the answer will be easy to find. Instead it means the true question can be answered.

To use simplicity two things are required; a striping away of all societal input, and following The Base Rule. The Base Rule is the moral rule from which all laws, and morals are derived. In short it states; "A human being has 'everyright'." Everyright is the single inherent right off ALL human beings to do anything except remove another human being rights.

The Base Rule is the not only the root of morality and laws. It is also the root of Simplicity. The Base Rule can be applied to the core of any issue to find the true question of the issue. Once applied the issue is itself black and white. Either The Base Rule is followed or it is not.

The other requirement of Simplicity is to remove society's idea of what is correct. Society tends to develop incorrect morals that are based on popular opinion instead of The Base Rule. Any issue can be colored by differing points of view. Although these different views are a healthy part of society (and all people have a right to them), sometimes they must be put aside to see a the true issue.

The rightness or wrongness of many complicated issues can be argued. But those issues must be themselves ignored so that it can be asked "Does this impede someone's Everyright?". Then and only then can the morality of the situation be truly seen.

It could now be argued that we give up many rights so that we may live in a civilized world. This is not the case however. Civilization means, we must not take away the rights of other's. According to the Base Rule, not taking the rights of others is the only right that we humans never had. If we have never had the right to take others' rights then we cannot have it given up that right.
